Confessions of A Rebel was born to defy categorization and gender binaries. I was briefed to create a brand identity that would stand out from the sea of sameness and would be authentic, edgy, and real. Brand name inspired the black and white, high contrast paired with neon elements.

PACKAGING —

Brand packaging reflects its rebellious spirit. The black and white label design flips as a neon typography designed backward on black to show the contrast and contradictions of the brand and its point of view.

ART DIRECTION —

Black and white graphic and high contrast inspired the brand’s art direction - black and white, very grainy photography that looks like it’s been shot on a film. Models would get “fake” tattoos to manifest each fragrance tagline.

To add some rebellious spirit, we used mixed media, making images look like collages by adding elements such as colored tape, spray paint, and drawings.
